HCG Diet-The Gutsy Diet for Those Who Want to Lose Fast

If you are interested in the HCG Diet, or if you have a friend or relative interested in doing the diet, here is a link to an article I just posted this week. This is more for those just getting interested in doing the diet and need to be inspired.

But it might also answer a few questions and get you motivated.

The Gutsy Diet for Those Who Want to Lose Fast, Once and For All:

I have had a lot of people write this past week with questions
about deviating from the diet.

It is so incredibly discouraging if you don’t lose every day. Losing every single day is the norm. You should lose at least ¼,1/2 to 1 pound per day.  The first week, even better.

If you are following the diet closely, as perfectly as possible, you may skip a day of losing at some point, but then it is most likely because your body is emptying out the fat cells and some fat cells can temporarily fill with water and water weighs more.

At least this is the explanation given by Dr. Simeons. He said in Pounds and Inches, that there may be days that you lose inches, but the scale stays the same because your body is absorbing old skin and blood vessels, etc.

I strongly suggest when you start out, that you do the Pounds and Inches diet as explained by Dr. Simeons, as closely as you can. If you want to make some adjustments later on, it may work out ok.

I just know that I personally have lost a lot of time trying things that didn’t work. I know how hard it is.

If you want to lose weight quickly for a special event or because you need the psychological boost to lose some weight fast, it is terrific. But it is one diet that is not very “forgiving” if you cheat or deviate even a little.

Here is a reminder of the original diet.  DrSimeonsProtocol.pdf

Breakfast:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

Lunch:

1. 450 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp.  (See Protein Chart) All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw.

It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The
chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

2. Any combination of these types of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4. An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner :

The same four choices as lunch. The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt,
pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times. In fact, the patient should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day.

Many patients are afraid to drink so much because they fear that this may make them retain more water. This is a wrong notion as the body is more inclined to store water when the intakefalls below its normal requirements.

The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal. I hope this helps for those who don’t have time to look up the original diet.

I personally find that the melba toast does help me with having a little crunch in my menu dishes, however, be careful not to eat more than prescribed in the diet protocol. You may not lose as fast with the breadstick or Melba toast, but some of you might want to eat it  anyway. It gives a sense of more food to the diet.

Feel free to write with any questions or hints to pass on to others.
