I've been freaking out the last few day since starting HCG diet phase 3.

I've been freaking out the last few day since starting phase 3.
I read through Pounds & Inches a couple times when I started the diet and thought I had it down. I forgot I had to stay on the 500 cal. diet for 3 days after I stopped taking the HCG. I was watching what I ate, no starch or sugar, and still gained 4 lbs in 4 days. I didn't do a steak day but here on the 5th day of phase 3, I dropped 2 of the 4 lbs I put on .

Please be sure to remind everyone about the 3 extra 500 calorie days. Gaining back 1 lb. every day after going off the diet really shook me. No need anyone else going through this.

I wanted to check in and tell you I am still chugging along. I did a steak day and finally broke through! I am at almost 24 lbs down and on day 33. My pants have had to be replaced finally. How to deal with vacation interruptions while on the HCG Diet during phase 2

Hello gang, I received this question today, and I though it was a very important question because as we move more into summer vacation, many HCG dieters may need to take breaks for travel or pre-planed vacations.

So this is the question I received today from one of my readers. 


Q: Hi Colin. I'm wrote to you before regarding exercise and HCG. I have another question regarding an interruption. I'll be going on vacation in a week and as hard as I'll try to be good, I don't feel it's realistic to stick to the protocol while we're in Hawaii. I've heard that you can do an "interruption" but am not sure of the details. Can you give me specifics and what I should expect regarding my weight? You should probably know I am using the homeopathic sub lingual drops so I don't know if it's the same as for injections. But I would sure appreciate any expertise/advice you can offer me.

A: Hi Janet, here is the text book answer to your question. If you have more than 20 injections, it will be better for you, when taking a break, however, please read the following:

When a HCG dieter knows beforehand that he will have to travel and be absent for more than four days, it is always better to stop injections three days before he/she is due to leave so that he/she can have the three days of strict dieting which are necessary after the
last injection at home.

This saves him/her from the almost impossible task of having to arrange the 500 calorie diet while en route, and he/she can thus enjoy a much greater dietary freedom from the day of his departure. Interruptions occurring before 20 effective injections have been given are most undesirable, because with less than that number of injections some weight is liable to be
regained. After the 20th injection an unavoidable interruption is merely a loss of time.

I would also take your scale with you, and continue to weigh yourself daily, this will stop you from overindulging, and gaining allot of weight. Your scale is impotent, because it is calibrated to you.

I am 54 yrs. old 5'10" and did weigh 273 lbs. and I have lost 16.6 pounds in 8 days.

Q: Dear Colin,

I am very proud of your success and enjoy reading your articles. I am 54 yrs. old 5'10" and did weigh 273 lbs. Since i read your articles my wife and I have been using the HCG drops that you put under your tongue and following the eating plan. I have lost 16.6 pounds in 8 days. I can not believe this stuff!!! The thing I don't really understand is after I finish the first cycle I probably will have to do another one to reach my desired weight.

How long do I wait before I start the second cycle? I already feel much better and have set my mind to see this journey through. Another thing I am not sure is about working out. We have a gym at work and I have been working out with light weight and doing cardio. My worst fear I think is having loose skin. Is there a limit on working out or will it hinder a persons loosing weight?? Look forward to hearing from you.

A: Hello Jimmy and thank you for your email. Your question is a good one, and I get it often. I will share with you what I did, which some hard core hcg dieters my not agree with. I think this is because no one wants to deviate from the protocol in fear of the worse. I however have personally done this and it worked wonders. Your weight loss is inspiring, you should be very proud of yourself! Kudos!!!!!

If you are used to working out, then continue to do so in phase 2, however you will need to drop the intensity down a bit to make sure you never feel overly fatigued, hungry or tired. On occasion, if you work your muscle to hard, you will retain some water the very next day, but it will dissipate over the next 24 to 48 hours and you will make up for any slowed weight loss. In phase 3, you can pick you intensity back up, and hit the weight like you would normally. Also, you must wait 6 weeks before doing another phase 1 & 2, however some have had success in 4 to five weeks. I want to congratulate you on taking the hcg weight loss challenge, and I wish you continued success.

HCG Diet Modification for Vegetarians & Those Who Can’t Process Animal Proteins

The HCG diet was developed by British Endocrinologist Dr. A.T.W. Simeon in the 1950s was resurrected by controversial author Kevin Trudeau just a few short years ago. Today Simeon’s diet is enjoying a renewed popularity amid a lot of controversy surrounding the use of an injected hormone to aid in weight loss. But despite the naysayers, HCG dieters have been steadily losing lots of weight very quickly and re-sculpting their bodies because of the rapid fat loss.

The HCG diet is not as friendly to would-be vegetarian-dieters or those unable to process animal proteins
In addition to the injecting HCG or taking it orally, those following Dr. Simeon's protocol also eat a very low 500 calorie a day diet. The doctor's plan poses a challenge for vegetarians who do not eat the meat called for in the diet plan
For those vegetarians that eat dairy products, Dr. Simeon recommends taking 500cc. of skim milk each day.

Vegetarians who eat eggs can substitute 1 whole egg with the whites of three additional eggs served boiled or poached. They could also eat 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese or non-fat plain yogurt with no sugar added. Because of the starch content, vegetarians cannot eat the customary vegetable protein sources such as rice, beans, wheat or nuts. If you can handle soy products, soy-milk might be a safe alternative to skim cow's milk, but you'd have to find a sugar-free version.

There are some 'mostly' vegetarians who occasionally eat seafood. They can substitute chicken, ground turkey, and beef, for shrimp, lobster, prawns, craw-fish or crab-meat. Because they don't eat the animal products called for in the original diet, strict vegetarians can expect their weight loss to be about half of that of the meat-eaters who follow this diet.

Taking vitamin and mineral supplements while following the HCG weight loss plan
may be a prudent idea, do to your diminished capacity to supply your body with the vitamins and minerals needed each day while doing the HCG diet as a vegetarian. It is difficult to get everything you need from the foods you eat to get a full supply of essential vitamins and minerals that keep you healthy and strong, build muscle, and keep your body operating in tip top form.

Drink plenty of fluids while on the HCG diet.
Dr. Simeon's program calls for all the coffee or tea you want but with no added sugar a minimum of two liters of water per day. You are also permitted to have the juice of one lemon each day, so you could squeeze some of it into your tea in the morning and then some into your drinking water for the rest of the day.
If you are a strict vegetarian, the HCG diet might be a bit of a challenge to navigate, but if you're flexible about the animal proteins you'll eat, you may find better results.

Whichever course of action you take the HCG diet will produce outstanding fast weight loss results, that judging by the mass popularity it is sure to be around for another sixty years.

Colin I'm back at my ideal weight!

I stop giving myself the shots on the 9th Sunday. I been watching my sugar and starches. I didn't want to weigh every day. But today Sunday 16th I weight and I was 151.6 when I stop on Sunday the 9th I was 152.9. I'm back at my ideal weight. I will restart the hcg again later this summer to drop below my ideal weight the lowest I have every been was 145. Please let me know when you come back on the radio. You have been the greatest support for me.

Many HCg dieters want to know about HCg food choices, and how much vegetables they are allowed to eat. I am going to share my personal experience and recipe for hCg diet success, by explaining my HCg food choices that made my HCg weight loss experience not only tolerable, but enjoyable.

You may not know that you can mix your vegetables on the HCg diet protocol. By doing this, you will get plenty of food, in addition to be able to create a more pleasurable dining experience.

From day one, I have mixing my allowable veggies by choosing one handful of each vegetable I wanted to eat for my meals (i.e.) one handful of cucumber, one handful of tomatoes, one handful of union, celery etc…

This creates a melody of vegetables and increases the volume of my HCg diet meals. I also cooked my proteins and vegetables with one teaspoon of organic extra virgin coconut oil, which allowed me to cook dishes like shrimp scampi and sautéed scallops, and stir-fry chicken dishes. By using organic extra virgin coconut oil and sautéing my veggies I was allowing the flavors to simmer and blend together which makes for an amazing HCg diet meal.

Some hard core HCg diet guru’s may bock at my suggestion however those who have tried these suggestions, have not only been able to complete the HCg diet with easy, but have also experience maximum weight loss and increase strength with this process.

So go ahead and eat for HCg diet maximum weight loss, which I consider to be a smarter and more delicious way to complete the HCg diet and transform your HCg body for life.

Q: Sorry, I feel like I'm always bothering you... I need some help with Phase 3. Let me explain... I took my last shot of HCG on May 5th. That day I weighed in at 136.3 and finished my 3 days on the 500 calories. By the end of the 3 days I weighed 134 and was sick with a cold AND started menstruating on the same day. My weight went down to 132.3 on the last day of the 500 cal diet. But as I started to feel better my weight's been going up. Started to get scared cause each day I am gaining a half to a pound a day. I weighed in this morning at 135.3 and started thinking that I had to do a steak day. But then I realized you have to stay within 2 pounds of the weight you were on the day of the last injection?? which was the 136.3?? I am so confused. So after all that, (sorry) my question is should I do a Steak day today? I guess its just scary cause I was down to 132.3 and now I'm 135.3. Is it the weight you were on the morning of your last injection??

If you can let me know I would appreciate it. Congrats also on becoming the HCG Diet coach. You are a great one. I lost a total of 22 pounds but my inches I lost were the best part. A total of 15.25 inches overall! Can't wait to do my next round.

A: Hi Dori, first I would like to assure you that you are not a bother to me in any way, I love answering question and providing helpful answers and solutions to hCG diet question! With that said, You can use the weight on the last injection day, and no steak day is required. However keep in mind that you must gradually increase you calories from 500 to 800 to 1000 the first week, from 1000 to 1500 the second week ,and calculate what your basic metabolic calorie intake should be based on the following formula, which you can use as a guide.

Your final weight after you last injection, which was 136.3 x11 = 1,499.00. So 1500 calories should be the maximum daily calorie intake you should have in order to maintain your weight. If you are taking in more that 1500 calories, you could experience a weight gain. You should also analyze if you are eating enough protein. If not, you body will experience a protein deficiency and this could causes water retention known as hunger- edema. SO make sure your protein intake is sufficient, about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Let me know if these suggestion help you to stabilize your weight.
